Seamless access to your data on Medusa Cloud

Inspecting your data for debugging and business metrics is a use case we've heard consistently since launching Medusa Cloud. Previously, this was done through database exports, which is not ideal for quick debugging or for deriving business intelligence metrics.

Starting today, Medusa Cloud provides a dedicated, read-only connection string that lets you connect directly to your database, without impacting your primary database's performance or data integrity.

Worry-free data exploration

Accessing the primary database can result in accidental data modification or increase database load, degrading the experience for your end-users. This is why Medusa Cloud now provides a read-only replica completely isolated from your primary database, eliminating any risk of unintended data modifications or performance impact.

To connect to your database, go to your environment's Settings page. Under the Database section, you will find the connection string. Our documentation explains this feature in more detail.

Since the read-replica does not allow for any data modifications, writes must still happen through database dump imports or migration scripts, just as before.
