The new Layout Composer in Medusa Admin lets you reorder, hide, and save the layout of pages, sidebars, and the top bar.

We're excited to introduce a new Layout Composer in Medusa Admin that lets you reorder, hide, and save the arrangement of nearly every part of the dashboard.

This started as a community contribution from Leonardo Benini (@leobenzol), and it is a strong example of the kind of high-value feature open-source contributors can drive in Medusa.

The Layout Composer is available in version 2.17.2 of Medusa.

What you can rearrange

The Layout Composer allows you to drag and drop entries on all pages to reorder them, and hide the ones you do not need. This includes:

  • Sections and cards on detail and list pages (orders, products, custom pages and more)
  • Items in the main sidebar and the settings sidebar
  • Elements in the top bar

Hiding works on core entries too, not just widgets. If you want to replace one of Medusa's built-in sections, hide the core entry, build a widget exactly how you want it, and drop it into the same position.

Personal and global layouts

Layout configurations can be saved as a personal preference for your own user, or as a default shared across all users in the project. Global defaults give teams a consistent admin, while individual users can still tailor their own view on top.

Try out the new Layout Composer in version 2.17.2 of Medusa.
