Medusa Search

Overview

Medusa Search is the search engine built into Medusa and managed by us on Medusa Cloud. There is no second vendor, no sync code and no extra dashboard.

What you get

• Keyword search with typo tolerance, faceting, filtering, highlighting and per-field weights.
• Semantic and hybrid search through the same API, on Scale and Enterprise plans.
• Indexes as code. Add a file to Copy to clipboardsrc/search and Medusa creates, seeds and updates the index from events.
• Two ways to query: an InstantSearch-compatible store endpoint, or Copy to clipboardquery.search in your own code.
• Search analytics in the Cloud dashboard: top searches, searches with no results and response times.
• Local development on Postgres. The same Search module runs locally, then switches to Medusa Search on Cloud with no configuration.

Get started

1. Deploy your project on Medusa Cloud. Medusa Search is on by default for every plan (Medusa v2.21.1 or later).
2. Add an index definition such as Copy to clipboardsrc/search/product.ts. See Search Index Definitions.
3. Query it from your storefront or code. See the Search Module docs.
